One of the cornerstone principles that I stand on as a woman, and as one who encourages women, is the truth that every woman is beautiful. There is something unique and amazing about each and every one of us. It is God-given but often we do not see it, feel it, or believe it ourselves. If we don’t know it, others cannot experience it. We can dress ourselves up in a thousand different ways. We can identify with any number of things to feel right about ourselves on the outside. None of that will reveal the authenticity of who He created us to be if we don’t know how very much God loves us and how absolutely beautiful He thinks we are.

I wrote this poem decades ago and it depicts the depth of where beauty starts-in the heart and soul.

 

The Loveliness Within

With You God I need no words.

All that’s in my heart You know.

A single word I needn’t speak

For worship and Love to flow.

 

I sense You as I meet You there,

That special place of ours

Where You comfort, strengthen, sustain and fill me

With Glorious Life and Power.

 

As You hold and cherish me

I know the beauty of my soul.

And though in flesh I fall so short

With You God, I am whole.

 

When things get tough and I grow weak,

When I fail You once again,

Help me to remember Lord,

The Loveliness within.
